Internet connection services require use of telecommunication devices such as servers and personal computers, emitting CO2 that leads to global warming.
While reducing CO2 emission through energy saving efforts, we also offer Green Option service, which employs carbon-offset program, to address to CO2 emission.
Members who wish to contribute can add a fixed amount to their monthly internet charges that will be used to purchase natural energy.
Green Option is part of our effort to reduce CO2 that is emitted with the use of internet.

How It Works
What is Green Power?
Green power allows offsetting of CO2 that are emitted with the use of internet through purchasing of natural energy.
What is Carbon Offset?
Carbon offset is part of an effort to reduce greenhouse gases such as CO2 that cause global warming, through clean energy business, forestation and forest conservation.
While we try to reduce CO2 by energy saving efforts, CO2 emission cannot be completely prevented. The concept of carbon offset is to cancel out and reduce CO2 emission. It has become prevalent in Europe and recently has penetrated in Japan.
What is Natural Energy?
Natural energy refers to energy derived from natural sources such as solar, wind, hydropower, biomass and geothermal heat. Unlike fossil fuel such as oil and coal that are limited, since natural energy is inexhaustible and abundant, it is also called renewable energy.
Electricity generated from natural energy not only is valuable as electricity itself but also environmentally for energy conservation (reduction of fossil fuel) and reduction of CO2 emission.

Green Option charges are used to purchase natural energy through Next Energy & Resources Co., Ltd., which then will be used to fund natural power generation.
Third party organization of Japan Quality Assurance Organization (JQA) reviews and issues Green Power Certificate, which certifies power generation by natural energy.
