Sustainability Basic Policy

Based on Asahi Net’s corporate philosophy, Interaction and Creativity, we are carrying on our company activities under the mission to: heighten the value of interactions among people through information technology, and contribute to social development.

As we acknowledge that our company, Asahi Net, Inc., is a leading infrastructure operator that supports people’s everyday life and business activities, we operate our business by always considering what is best for the society. We will continue to expand our opportunity and minimize, on the other hand, business risk, through healthy business activities, and also contribute to enhancing a sustainable business value and social development.

Materiality

We have set the following four major tasks to strive for a sustainable improvement of company value and social development. As we set forth goals for each task, we will connect these goals to our actual and specific activities.

Sustainability Promotion Framework

We have a Sustainability Promotion Committee to promote sustainability through business activities. Under the direction of the President, the Sustainability Promotion Committee plans out, and makes proposals for sustainability-related management policy as well as business activity policy/strategy, and submits such plans and proposals to management meetings. Matters resolved at the management meeting are initiated by the Sustainability Promotion Committee and extended for company-wide promotion by aligning with each business department/corporate department.

Asahi Net's Efforts

Asahi Net will continue to work on the current corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities as part of the sustainability efforts.

Long-term Food Assistance Donation Program

We offer monthly food assistance donation program to help eliminate hunger and poverty around the world.

Donations from Asahi Net and members are used for food aid in areas experiencing starvation and poverty through United Nations World Food Programme, which is the only food assistance organization in the United Nations.

Great East Japan Earthquake Donation Program

A donation program is offered hoping for the earliest possible recovery of the people in the disaster-affected area.

Donations from Asahi Net and members are used for restoration of the area through Japanese Red Cross Society.

Green Option (Carbon Offsets)

Internet connection services require use of telecommunication devices such as servers and personal computers, emitting CO2 that leads to global warming.

While reducing CO2 emission through energy saving efforts, we also offer internet connection services that employs carbon offset program to address to CO2 emission.
